ABOUT US
National Water Traders was founded by Lew Hyson in 2003. Lew has worked in the irrigation since 1974, beginning in the New South Wales Water Commission before moving in 1986 to Agriculture NSW in the Department of Primary Industries. Lew is a certified irrigation agronomist, who has taught at both the University of Queensland and the University of New England. National Water Traders has focussed since its beginnings on offering cost-effective services to the industry and we view our integrity as our greatest business asset.
WHAT IS WATER TRADING?
Water trading is the sale or lease of a water allocation on either a permanent or temporary basis. Water trading allows water users and water owners to ensure that they get the best return on investment possible. The best choice of a temporary or permanent sale or a long-term lease will depend on your individual circumstances and on the market in your areas. National Water Traders will discuss your needs and will help you to choose the option that works for you.
Purchasing or leasing water allows water resources to used in a way that maximises the value of the water resource for both the buyer and seller. Buyers can increases production and leverage their existing investments in land and infrastructure.
